6 am in the morning and really I could do without getting up and getting on a boat again but, you know how it is, get up I did and get on a boat I did and all in the name of adventure tourism! At least for this cruise it was daylight. Again not everyone came out on the cruise, just the hard core trekkers! We went down river a little way then got out of the boat and walked for a while. The end result was that we did kinda see some proboscis monkeys, at least we saw the tail end of them as they were running from the sounds of us traipsing along the river bank, but we certainly didn’t get close enough for me to take any good pics of them, still great to see them in the wild though.
Back at camp we enjoyed our last meal before collecting our gear, getting back on the boat again (!) and heading back to base in Sepilok.
This afternoon I’m heading down to Sandakan which is the closest biggest town to Sepilok, the LP doesn’t really rate it but I fancy a nice sleep and a chill out before heading on to Semporna and diving at one of the top 3 dives sites in the world.
